Janet Lin to return to Japan after Sapporo Olympics
Janet Lin (USA), who placed third in the women's figure skating at the 11th Winter Olympics in Sapporo, returned to Japan at 5:45 p.m. on June 22, 1972, aboard JAL Flight 51, a jumbo jet. After the Sapporo Olympics, the "Lynn boom" heated up in Japan. The ice fairy was almost crushed by fans and her blond hair was pulled, and she received a mixed reception in many places during her short six-day stay in Japan, flying to Tokyo, Mito, Osaka, Nara, and Kyoto and charming fans again with her fresh Lynn smile. On June 26, Lynn enjoyed Nara and Kyoto, hoping to get in touch with old Japan.
