South Korea's former Justice Minister Cho Kuk appears at a Seoul court
Cho Kuk, May 8, 2020 : South Korea's former Justice Minister Cho Kuk (C) answers questions from reporters as he appears at the Seoul Central District Court in Seoul, South Korea. According to local media, Cho attended a court hearing on Friday for the first time since he was charged with abuse of power in January for allegedly halting a probe in 2017 into bribery allegations involving a senior Financial Services Commission official, when Cho was senior presidential secretary for civil affairs. Cho denied charges against him. Cho who is a confidant of South Korean President Moon Jae-In resigned as justice minister last October after months of controversy and protests both from his supporters and opponents.
