South Korea's former Justice Minister Cho Kuk appears at a Seoul court
Cho Kuk, May 8, 2020 : Plain-clothes policemen keep watch before South Korea's former Justice Minister Cho Kuk appears at the Seoul Central District Court in Seoul, South Korea. According to local media, Cho attended a court hearing on Friday for the first time since he was charged with abuse of power in January for allegedly halting a probe in 2017 into bribery allegations involving a senior Financial Services Commission official, when Cho was senior presidential secretary for civil affairs. Cho denied charges against him. Cho who is a confidant of South Korean President Moon Jae-In resigned as justice minister last October after months of controversy and protests both from his supporters and opponents.
