The trees on the protruding bit of land on the left are part of Amanohashidate, considered to be one of Japan's three most beautiful sights.
Hidden behind the trees on the right is the entrance gate of Chionji Temple.
In 1923 (Taisho 12) the Kaisenbashi bridge was built at this spot to connect Amanohashidate with the mainland.
