May 26, 2011, Hiraizumi, Japan - The stone steps lead to the front gate of the main dungeon of Chusonji, a Buddhist temple in Hiraizumi, Iwate Prefecture, northern Japan, on Thursday, May 26, 2011. The historic Hiraizumi area, best symbolized by Chusonji and its Golden Hall, features a cluster of temples and ruins, left by the Oshu Fujiwara clan that ruled the much of the northern Japaue n from the 11th to the 12th centuries.
