On March 11, the students from northeastern Japanese sea port of Onagawa perched on a high hill, watching in terror as the tsunami swallowed up their town following the magnitude 9.0 earthquake. The students loss has been overwhelming. Five were orphaned after losing both parents. Thirtyfour students lost one parent and many lost siblings, relatives and friends.
