Inauguration of the Uno Cabinet

After being nominated as the 75th and 47th Prime Minister at a plenary session of both houses of the Diet on April 2, Muneyuki Uno was appointed to the three new LDP positions of Secretary General Ryutaro Hashimoto (Takeshita faction), General Affairs Chairman Kiyoshi Mizuno (Miyazawa faction), and Policy Research Chairman The three new LDP leaders, Mr. Ryutaro Hashimoto (Takeshita faction), Mr. Kiyoshi Mizuno (Miyazawa faction), and Mr. Keijiro Murata (Abe faction) were chosen. They arrived at the Prime Minister's official residence and set up a cabinet headquarters to complete the formation of the cabinet. However, the Prime Minister's appointment ceremony and the certification ceremony for cabinet ministers were held at 1:00 p.m. on March 3. The cabinet members were reappointed, including Minister of Finance Tatsuo Murayama, and Chief Cabinet Secretary Shojuro Shiokawa, a member of the Abe faction, was appointed as Chief Cabinet Secretary, the key post in the cabinet.
