25-story all-electric condominium in Nakadai, Itabashi, the highest rise in Tokyo, 1980
A 25-story high-rise condominium completed in Sun City. On September 9, a completion ceremony was held for the tallest condominium in Tokyo at 71.37 meters, with 25 floors above ground, in the corner of Sun City, a private apartment complex in Nakadai 3, Itabashi Ward, Tokyo, being developed by Mitsui Fudosan (President: Azuma Tsuboi) and Asahi Kasei Corporation (President: Teru Miyazaki). With a total floor area of 20,740 square meters, the building has 192 units ranging from 2LDK (54 square meters) to 4LDK (97 square meters). Prices ranged from 17.9 million to 44.6 million yen, and the units were sold out as soon as they went on the market in November 1979. Sun City was designed to withstand an earthquake twice the magnitude of the Great Kanto Earthquake, and was built without the use of gas to prevent gas explosions, and all heating and cooking is electric.
