Massive Wildfires in Texas Fire closes in on Houston (Satellite image provided by NOAA)
As firefighters on the ground try to douse the blazes, scientists at the NOAA Satellite Analysis Branch use thermal and high resolution visible imagery to identify the location, size and extent of current fires, and pinpoint new hotspots.
