Kelp seaweed
Kelp seaweed (Laminaria digitata) floating at the water's surface. This seaweed is also known as devil's apron and oarweed. It is used in the production of iodine, soda and fertilisers. Products such as ice cream, toothpaste, bread, beer and make-up contain extracts of kelp seaweed. Photographed in the UK.
