Transfer RNA molecule, illustration
Transfer RNA (tRNA) molecule, illustration. tRNA is RNA (ribonucleic acid) that transfers a specific amino acid to a growing polypeptide chain at the site of protein synthesis during gene translation. This molecule is colour-coded to show the structure of the tRNA molecule: the CCA tail爄s yellow, the acceptor stem is purple, the variable loop is orange, the燚 arm爄s red, the anticodon arm爄s blue, the anticodon爄s grey and the燭 arm爄s turquoise.
