Container ship and port. The containers are the large rectangular boxes stacked up on the deck of the ship and in the docks. They are a uniform size for ease of handling and storage. They are moved on to the ship by the specially designed cranes seen in the background. The container system is an efficient means of transporting many and varied types of cargo.
