Northern white-faced scops owl
Northern white-faced scops owl (Ptilopsis leucotis) viewed through foliage. This owl is fully nocturnal, spending the day hidden in scrub or bushes. It is found in savanna country, from the scrub desert fringes of the Sahara to the arid southwestern coastal region of Africa. They are small and largely insectivorous, but will also take small birds, small rodents and other mammals.
