Testing for malaria
Testing for malaria. Blood sample being taken using the finger-prick method. The finger has just been pricked and the resulting drop of blood is being smeared onto a glass slide for microscopic examination. The blood film will then be used to detect blood infections such as malaria, where parasites can be seen inside the red blood cells. Photographed in rainforest near Iquitos, Peru.
