Ancient Ainu dance performed at the newly opened Upopoi. Upopoi, a national facility for Ainu cultural revival, opened in Shiraoi Town, Hokkaido. Although the opening was delayed two and a half months from the original schedule due to the new coronavirus, it was crowded with 2,068 tourists. Visitors experienced the charm of Ainu culture through performances of traditional Ainu dances and mukkuri, a traditional musical instrument, on the open-air stage and in the experience exchange hall.
