Lily beetle damage and eggs (black). Lily (Lilium sp.) plant that has been damaged by Lily beetles (Lilioceris lilii), which have laid their eggs on the stem and leaves. Lily beetles are an increasing pest in gardens that contain plants from the lily family (Liliaceae). They emerge in early Spring, and feed on the leaves of the host plant before mating and laying eggs.
