Magnetic therapy for depression
Magnetic therapy for depression. Patient with severe depression being prepped for treatment using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). TMS uses localised pulses of magnetic fields to stimulate increased activity in the left frontal lobe, the area of the brain associated with mood disorders. The 'glasses' are being used to help ensure the precise positioning of the patient's head, which can be seen on the computer screen. Photographed at the Henri Mondor hospital, Creteil, Paris, France.
