Rusty treefrog male
Rusty treefrog (Hypsiboas boans) male. This large tree frog was previously known as Hyla boans. It can reach over 10 centimetres in length. It inhabits the humid forests of northern South America, making pits near rivers in the dry season in which it lays its eggs. In the wet season, the tadpoles are swept into the river by rising water levels. Photographed in the Peruvian region of the Amazon Basin.
