Basilosaurus fossil excavation. Palaeontoligsts excavating the fossilised remains of a Basilosaurus. This prehistoric marine mammal lived around 40-34 million years ago during the Late Eocene epoch and was related to modern whales. Photographed at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Wadi Al-Hitan, Egypt.
