Cassava factory. Man processing cassava into 'gari', at a small factory run by Planting Promise. Planting promise is an organisation dedicated to the development of education in Sierra Leone. Its aim is to bring opportunities to initiate self-run, self-supporting projects that offer real solutions to the difficulties facing the world's poorest country. Gari is a West African staple and serves as a useful way of preserving cassava roots. Photographed in Newton, Freetown, Sierra Leone.
