Berthold's bush anole
Berthold's bush anole (Polychrus gutturosus spurrelli). This lizard is sometimes called the forest iguana, as it is found in forests throughout tropical South America. Like other anoles, its toes allow it to cling to a variety of surfaces. This anole climbs trees and feeds on insects, reaching a length of around 30 centimetres. It also has the dewlap (throat flap, white) common to anoles. Photographed in Ecuador.
