Goliath beetle. View of the upper side of a male goliath beetle (Goliathus regius). Goliath beetles (named after the biblical giant Goliath) are among the largest insects on Earth. They are found in many of Africa's tropical forests, where they feed primarily on tree sap and fruit. The body of this specimen measures 14cm long.
