HIV antibody and glycoprotein complex
HIV antibody and glycoprotein complex. Molecular model of the anti-human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (anti-HIV-1) antibody 2F5 in complex with the gp41 envelope glycoprotein of HIV-1. HIV causes AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome). The antibody neutralises the effect of gp41, helping to prevent the onset of AIDS, and is being studied for use in HIV antibody therapy.
