Fabled origin of the Burgundy Cross. Etienne, a legendary king of Burgundy, makes a pilgrimage to St. Victor of Marseilles, to whom he has carried the Cross of St. Andrew, out of gratitude to St. Mary Magdalene, who had raised him and his mother from the dead. This cross afterwards figured in the shield of the House of Burgundy. After a miniature in the 15th century manuscript Chroniques de Bourgogne.
