Oxandrolone anabolic steroid molecule
Oxandrolone. Molecular model of the anabolic steroid drug oxandrolone (C19.H30.O3). This drug is a synthetic anabolic steroid derivative of dihydrotestosterone. It was first marketed in 1964. Because of its abuse by bodybuilders, it is a controlled substance. In medicine, it has been used to promote muscle regrowth in a range of conditions that cause weight loss and wasting or damage to body tissues. Atoms (spheres) are colour-coded: carbon (grey), hydrogen (white) and oxygen (red).
