Francis Harry Compton Crick (1916-2004), British microbiologist. Crick discovered the molecular structure of DNA. He shared the 1962 Nobel prize for physiology or medicine with James Dewey Watson and Maurice Wilkinson. The citation read for further discoveries concerning the molecular structure of nucleic acids and their significance for information transfer in living materials.
