Moth trap baited with pheromones
Moth trap baited with pheromones. This trap has been baited with sex pheromones, pear ester, and acetic acid. Researchers at the Agricultural Research Service of the US Department of Agriculture found that the combination of all three ingredients provided the best attractant for the codling moth (Cydia pomonella). The larvae of this moth attacks apples, pears, walnuts, and other tree fruits.
