Arctic Sunrise over the Beaufort Sea
The sun rises in the arctic as early sea ice begins to form on the Beaufort Sea by the shoreline near Kaktovic, on Barter island in Northern Alaska. Barter Island was historically named when it became an important trade centre for the Inupiat people, the island was used to barter between the Inupiat from Alaska and Inuit from Canada, hence its name.Canada, hence its name.
