Whorled heath (Erica verticillata). Whorled heath was native to the Cape Flats Sand Fynbos of the Cape Peninsula, South Africa, but is now extinct in the wild due to destruction of the habitat. This plant was photographed in Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Cape Town, South Africa.
