Pre-Historic Weaving in Northern Italy
Model loom demonstrating Early Bronze Age weaving materials and equipment found as a result of archaeobotanical research on the pile dwelling of Lavagnone (Desenzano del Garda, Italy). Samples of wool and flax prior to weaving are shown on spindles together with the linen and wool weave on the loom. Also displayed are Early Bronze Age loom weights (to stretch the threads and ensure a tight warp for the fabric), spindles and reels, a spool, some bone nails and bronze nails, a driller and weaving separators. From the Archaeological Museum of Desenzano.
