Chaperonin folding protein
Chaperonin folding protein, molecular model. Chaperonins are proteins that provide favourable conditions for the correct folding of other proteins, preventing aggregation (clumping) due to mis-folded proteins. This is a chaperonin in the closed (lid) state. This example is from the Methanococcus maripaludis archaeon, a methane-producing microbe (methanogen).
