Bluespotted ribbontail ray on the seabed
Bluespotted ribbontail ray (Taeniura lymna) on the seabed. This stingray inhabits the oceans of the Indo-Pacific. It spends most of its time buried in the sand or under ledges and breathes through spiracles that are located below its eyes. Two poisonous stings near the end of its tail are used in defence. Photographed in the Red Sea, Egypt.
