Great scallop shell
Great scallop shell. The shell of a great scallop or king scallop (Pecten maximus), a small saltwater clam in the family Pectinidae. Shells of bivalve molluscs such as clams consist of two articulating parts, or valves. This species may be conspecific with Pecten jacobaeus, the Mediterranean scallop.
