Moxifloxacin hydrochloride. Molecular model of the drug moxifloxacin hydrochloride (C21.H24.F.N3.O4. H.Cl). This medication, sold under the brand name of Avelox, is a fourth-generation synthetic fluoroquinolone antibacterial agent. Moxifloxacin is used to treat a number of infections, including: respiratory tract infections, cellulitis, anthrax, intraabdominal infections, endocarditis, meningitis, and tuberculosis.
