Muscular dystrophy research
A researcher working in the field of facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHMD) observes the microscopic structure of a sample of muscle tissue. FSHMD is a usually inherited form of muscular dystrophy which causes progressive weakening and wasting of the skeletal muscles, initially of the face, shoulders and upper arms.
