Prosthetic upper arm bone, X-ray
Prosthetic upper arm bone. Coloured X-ray of an upper arm bone (humerus) and parts of the elbow and shoulder joint that have been reconstructed in a 32-year-old man following a severe arm injury. This is known as total humeral endoprosthetic replacement, and is done to avoid limb amputation. An example of when this operation is performed is in cases of bone cancers.
