Peruvian mummy, X-ray research. Researcher preparing the mummy of a young woman for an X-ray scan. This mummy is held at the Darder Museum in Girona, Spain. It originates from Peru and dates from around 1200 years ago. Ongoing anthropological research using forensic and X-ray techniques is attempting to discover her role in society, and her cause of death.
