FOX proteins are a family of transcription factors that help regulate gene expression in cell growth, proliferation, stress signals, differentiation and longevity. FOXO4 is a protein encoded by the FOXO4 gene in humans. Research into the effects of this protein has found that it is effective at reducing toxicity caused by cell senescence (cell ageing) in mice. It is thought that it could have applications in rejuvenation, increased activity, and hair regrowth.
