Eosinophil, light micrograph
Light micrograph showing an eosinophil in a blood smear. Erythrocytes (red blood cells) are pink. The eosinophil exhibits the characteristic bilobulated nucleus and the red cytoplasmic granules stained by eosin. Among the red blood cells are some small platelets with a somewhat bluish staining. Magnification: x900 when printed at 10 centimetres across.
