Coppery-tailed coucal
Coppery-tailed coucal (Centropus cupreicaudus). Coucals are non-parasitic members of the cuckoo family of birds. They are ground-foraging insectivores that clamber around in thick bush. They are weak flyers and prefer to run from predators. This coucal has a gurgling call and is found in southern Africa. Photographed on the banks of the Chobe river between Namibia and Botswana.
