Demonstration for Nuclear Power Plant Phase-Out Surrounds Parliament About 200,000 citizens participated
July 29, 2012, Tokyo, Japan - Men and women, young and old, tens of thousands of citizens carrying with them improvised placards and signs take to the streets in the heart of Tokyo, voicing their grave concern over the resumption of two nuclear reactors in western Japan along the coast of the Sea of Japan during a mass protest Sunday, July 29, 2012.
"We don't need nuclear power," shouted the protesters as they marched by the head office of Tokyo Electric Power Co., the operator of the crippled nuclear power plant in Fukushima Prefecture, northeastern Japan.
