Nurse fitting colostomy bag
Home care nursing. Nurse applying a colostomy bag to a patient's stoma in their home. A colostomy is where part of the colon (large intestine) is brought through an incision in the abdominal wall and formed into an external artificial anus called a stoma. This is then connected to a colostomy bag that collects faecal matter. They may be either temporary or permanent.
