MODEL RELEASED. Storm damage. Man standing by the root mound of an ancient Douglas fir tree (Pseudotsuga menziesii) in Stanley Park, Vancouver, Canada. The tree was uprooted during a mid-latitude cyclone that struck the park on 15 December, 2006. Wind speeds during the storm reached 71 miles per hour. The storm felled thousands of Douglas fir, western red cedar and sitka spruce trees.
