Ice storm damage
Ice storm damage. Fallen tree on top of a car and house. The tree fell during an ice storm. Ice storms occur when warm clouds deposit rain above a layer of colder air. The droplets are cooled to below zero degrees Celsius and turn into ice when they fall onto a surface that is below freezing. Here, 5.8 centimetres of ice was deposited, felling trees and cutting the electrical power supply. Photographed in Norman, Oklahoma, USA.
