Dessau floods. Image 1 of 2. Satellite image of a flooded part of the city of Dessau, Germany. The city lies at the junction of the rivers Mulde and Elbe. This is an example of the severe flooding that affected large areas of central and eastern Europe in the summer of 2002. Image taken by the Ikonos satellite on 21 August 2002.
