Glacial meltwater. Aerial photograph of glacial meltwater forming rivers and streams over sand flats in Skeidararsandur, southern Iceland. The streams originate from melting glaciers in the highlands. As the glaciers thaw, the meltwater runs downstream, over sand flats and into the North Atlantic ocean.
