Beehive rock towers
Beehive rock towers. Aerial view of beehive rock formations produced by water erosion. These sandstone towers are very fragile. Erosion occurs when water flowing over the tower surface exploits weaknesses such as cracks in the rock, deepening the channels between the beehives. Photographed in the Purnululu (Bungle Bungle) National Park, Kimberley, Western Australia.
