Cretaceous-Tertiary Impact. Computer artwork of a large asteroid hitting Earth 65 million years ago. The impact formed the Chicxulub crater on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, which is around 200 kilometres wide. The catastrophic impact may have been a factor in the extinction of the dinosaurs.
