River pollution. Sewage outflow pipe running directly into a river. There is rubbish in the river and on its banks. Polluted water is the cause of many diseases, such as typhoid, cholera and dysentery. Infestations of intestinal worms are also common. Aquatic life in the river may also be affected by pollution, as the oxygen content of the water is decreased. Photographed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
