Egyptian burial tomb
Egyptian burial chamber. Workmen excavating a multi-chambered Egyptian burial chamber. They have began to uncover the mummies buried in each chamber. This tomb is part of the Valley of the Mummies, a six kilometre stretch of tunnels and burial chambers carved into the sandstone of the Bahariya Oasis, Egypt. These tombs date back to around the third century AD during the Roman occupation of Egypt. When the site was discovered in 1996, 105 mummies were found. Most of these were covered in gilt and painted with religious scenes. Photographed in the Western Desert, Egypt.
